Robyn Simons

Robyn Simon has developed her own easily identifiable painterly style. Her work is about capturing mood, light and colour. Experimenting with different techniques to interpret the landscape fascinates her. A passion to paint is a precious thing and is all consuming ..... mostly a joy, often frustrating, but always exciting.

“Some of this work reflects on my travels to France and Italy. There are so many images from that trip I want to paint, that just the thought of trying to capture a scene gets my creative interpretive juices really excited. Inspiration doesn’t have to come from half way around the world, it can be from a piece of fruit on the table or dappled light on the road. Mostly it’s the mood of an image that makes it appealing to me. The majority of this work is inspired from the diversity of the fantastic landscape in the area where I live.”

Robyn won the Champion Exhibit at the Dorrigo Show Exhibition in 2006, and in 2007 first place in the Contemporary section and the Amateur Artist Arts Council of Dorrigo Award. In 2007 she was awarded People’s Choice at Coffs Harbour Salute to the Arts, a first prize at Sawtell Art Show in 2006 and 2007, and a first place for Oil or Acrylic in the Nambucca Valley Art Exhibition 2007.
