Sally Hook

Sally Hook is an Australian artist currently in mid-career her artistic background has developed through a long commitment to the process of making both two and three Dimensional artworks in a wide range of forms, using drawing, painting, pottery and ceramic sculpture.

When using humanity as a subject, she enjoys exploring characters and attitudes that are universally recognizable.

When making pottery, her processes vary widely from earthenware through to stone wear, often incorporating inter-connected forms. Painting drawing subjects are drawn from essentially intuitive ideas, often finding form in images showing spiritual growth through humanity’s foibles, vanities, life phases and death.

In 2006 Sally was invited to work for two months in a residency in Vallauris,  France on the Cote D’Azure where she had an exhibition of figurative ceramic sculpture.

Sally’s work is now being collected internationally as well as here in Australia.
